The PADI IDC Staff Instructor Program is an advanced professional development level for scuba instructors, preparing them to work as part of the Instructor Development Course (IDC) team and assist in training and mentoring the next generation of PADI professionals and instructors.

The program focuses on developing professional evaluation, mentoring, supervision, and instructional skills according to the highest PADI international standards.

Theoretical Training:
Advanced academic development covering:

PADI Instructor Development philosophy and system

IDC standards and procedures

Evaluation and mentoring techniques

Presentation and teaching skill development

Risk management and training safety

Supervising instructor candidates

Practical Training:
Includes active participation in IDC programs, focusing on:

Evaluating academic and practical teaching presentations

Training instructor candidates on teaching techniques

Supervising practical in-water exercises

Developing professional mentoring and evaluation skills

Assisting the Course Director throughout different stages of the IDC program

The program is conducted under the direct supervision of highly experienced PADI Course Directors and according to the highest international training and safety standards.

Program Requirements & Prerequisites:

Participants must hold:

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) certification in active teaching status

Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating

Have issued a minimum of 25 certified diver certifications

Valid medical clearance for scuba diving

Compliance with all PADI professional standards and requirements

The IDC Staff Instructor Program is an advanced professional step toward working in instructor development and professional scuba education, and it is also an important stage for instructors who wish to eventually progress toward becoming PADI Course Directors.
